Morning ya’ll!

I kinda overslept today, I’m not sure if the kids woke up a bit later of if they woke up normal hours but decided to let mommy have a little bit more sleep OR everything went as usual but I was just too tired to be able to wake up!!! LOL

Well, it doesn’t matter… kids were in a good mood and I got a few more precious minutes of sleep! YAY!

But that means I have to keep this post really short…

I’m so excited for her!!! We sort of entered the digiworld world together and it’s great to see her take the plunge!

Spirit of Summer is a charity collab benefiting the Victorian bushfire Appeal. Not only has this affected Australians, but human beings the world over.

Over 30 Australian and international designers have banded together to help support many Australians, animals and communities decimated by one Australia's worst national disasters.

What happened?

On Saturday, Feb 7, the temperature in Melbourne was 33'c by 9am. By noon it was 40'c and by 2.50 pm soared to 47.9'c (a state record).Thousands of people were also about to start running from the inferno that would become one of Australia's worst peacetime disasters. Trees ignited in the blink of an eye. By the time people heard the roar, it was too late to flee ahead of the flames.Unfortunately no one or thing could have stopped this inferno that wiped out communities, bushland, and lives within minutes. Many towns now cease to exist!.After watching interviews with survivors, many say that they cant put into words what they went through, saw or felt on that day.

Why is this charity kit different?

No money will change hands at Scrap N Tag (our host website).

We are asking for your support by donating DIRECTLY to one of the following charities:

Geez... one would think that I completely abandoned my little cyber corner, my blog! The poor thing is starting to develop some personality issues due to lack of attention! LOL

Well, before I start blabbing away I gotta tell you this.

Is it Friday yet???

It's the middle of the week and I'm already completely exhausted... I don't know if all 2 years olds have the same amount of energy, but mine sure manage to keep me busy and make me crazy! lol

NOTHING is safe from them... we already changed the entire living room to make it safe for and from them, but somehow they manage to find stuff to either destroy or hurt themselves. And in addition to all that, they decided they don't need to take a nap in the afternoon anymore, so no 'rest' time for Mama! Not to mention all the fighting (which is probably what makes me insane the most), they fight over EVERYTHING! Then, 5 minutes later they are both laughing their little tushies off, playing together! LOL

Oh, well... I guess I shouldn't complain, they are healthy happy children and that's what matters. It's just that the exhaustion gets the best part of me sometimes! ;)

Ok!!! Enough of my whining! Thanks for let me borrow your ears (or rather, your eyes) a little bit! :D

... has it really been THAT long since I blogged?

Shame on you, Livia!!!

How have you guys been?

Vacation was GREAT! It was awesome to see my family and friends again... Watching the kids interact with and charm my entire family was FUN!!!

Coming home was a whole other story... The first few days were tough! First because I always get a bit depressed to be so far away from my family again and second because the kids were so used to having SO MUCH attention all the time and single-handed-mommy here couldn't replace grandma, grandpa, great grandma and tons of uncles and cousins! PLUS they were very jet lagged! ROFL... Feeling sorry for me yet? HAHAHA

So... what made me come out of my cave and start blogging again? Well, besides the fact that I missed ya'll, I just HAD to show you what a GREAT GIFT I received from my friend Chelly! She made a mini kit and named it after me.... Isn't that SWEET??? What a great way to show affection!!!!

YAY!!! I made it to the final round at SUN designing contest!!! This is all so exciting and also a great honor to be among so many talented designers!

Bad news is... I'm sooooooo lacking time! I really hope I manage to pull thru on this one, but I'll need some sort of miracle...!

I'm so 'not there' this month that I completely forgot to tell you about my Lyric Challenge at DSO.

This month we're working with a singer with whom I've been obsessive about this past couple of months (nah, not cuckoo obsessive, just listening to it a LOT! lol), Jason Mraz.

The song I choose spoke volumes to me when I first heard it because hubby and I had a long distance period on our relationship (me in Brazil and him here in the Netherlands). So it really hit a soft spot in my heart... Hope you'll like it too! (click on the title to listen to it)

Almost vacation!!! YAY!

Whoa... not even a week since my last post? It seems so much longer! I guess it's because I've been so busy...

We leave for vacation in 5 days (Woohooo!) and I'm trying to get the house organized before we leave. And let me tell ya... it's not been easy! lol We just have too much junk, and that's not a good thing when you are messy! :P

We're planning on making a few changes here when we get back, so I just want to do as much as possible before we leave, because I'll certainly not feel like it when we get back, kwim???

Another thing I've been buys with is the designing contest at SSS. I was fortunate enough to be one of the designers to pass onto the 3rd mission. I feel really honored because, as you've seen, the work of all the contestants is pretty fantastic! Really didn't want to be in the judges skin!

For mission #3 we were given a package with a few CU items and had to use at least 5 of them in our kit (so much fun to see how we all used them in different ways). The catch? The kit had to be MONOCHROMATIC!!! Yep, just one color!

That was a tough one for me...it took me a long time just to decide on and stick with a color! lol And with all the other stuff happening in real life, I was afraid I wasn't gonna make it in time! But luckily I did!

Here's my submission, hope you (and the judges, of course haha) like it! ;)

... I scrapped!!! WOW, I can't believe it!!!

It's been a while... (just ask my ct bosses..lol). My BF asked me to make a layout using the Ooh la la! kit and some pictures from our trip to Paris earlier this year, this is what I came up with... I think it turned out pretty cute, whadayathink? ;)

Hmmmm... now that I've got my scrappin' mojo back, I guess I know what I'll be busy with today...! LOL

Hello!!!

So, what are your plans for today??? Going trick or treating? Gonna wear a costume???

It's such a bummer that we don't have halloween here nor in Brazil. So the one and only time I was able to enjoy this fantastic holiday was when I was an exchange student in the US in '94 (OMG...has it been THAT long already???).

Oh, well... at least I get to give you guys treats here, so I don't feel so left out on the party! LOL

Woohooooo! It's weekend!!!

I'm glad that the week is over... it was a very weird week for me! I have no clue why, but I felt I was sleepwalking all week long... just feeling BLAH, kwim? I hope that the weekend brings a bit of energy into this body! LOL

This month's lyrics was a bit tough for me to choose... Kim's anniversary had me in a romantic mood, but I also wanted to incorporate Halloween in the challenge...

Yeah, 'monsters' and romance.... great combination, huh? LOL But I think I (sort of) managed it!

Quick post today... I'm not in such a great mood, I've started my diet today and that always makes me cranky!!! LOL

But I'm desperate... have to loose a few pounds before going to Brazil on vacation in November. I'm bound to gain weight there, so I have to have 'credit'... hahaha

Yeah, it probably doesn't make any sense... loose weight just so you can gain it all back (on purpose! haha).

Awards and Chickenpox

Gosh....where has the week gone?

Which one of you is stealing my days? Huh? Huh? Give it back... I need them!!! ROFL

Jokes aside, this week really flew by... and not because I was having too much fun!

Both my kiddos got chickenpox... YAY! (NOT!!!) lol They are very whiny, wanting attention ALL the time. But I guess I shouldn't complain, neither of them had fever and there are no spots on their faces or arms. Like the doctor said: They have chickenpox, but they're not sick! So, it definitely could've been worse!

Funny thing is, last week we were talking about chickenpox at the designers group... and a few days later, my kids had it! Like Andrea said... I never knew email could be contagious! HAHA

I'm so tired...my house is a huge mess, and there are piles of laundry and dishes to do... Any volunteers? :D Hmmmm... didn't think so! LOL

Tuesday I got two wonderful surprises when I opened my email... 2 Blog Awards!!! It sure did brighten my day!

The first one was from Paula (pkdoll):

A Challenge, a freebie and a Cute Critter!

Hello everyone!

How's the week going so far? Mine started off pretty good! Yesterday I went to the MOVIES!!! Yes, yes... not that big deal, right??? Well, for me it was... HUGE! LOL

I went with two friends... we all left the kids with the hubbies and went for a girls night out! Oh, man... that felt good! Last time I had been in a movie theater was last october when we were in Brazil. We didn't even know what we were going to watch... the whole point was going out and have some non-mommy fun!

We ended up watching Get Smart. At first I had my doubts about it, but it was totally worth seeing it! We laughed so hard! And the movie theater was pretty empty (what else did we expect on a monday evening, huh? lol) so we could really LOL, kwim?

And to top it all off, today is sunny and relatively warm... woohooooooo! After I'm done posting I'll get my kiddos and go for a walk.

She was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and has set off on an adventure to travel the world! How? An update, 2 Hints and a Freebie!

Is it wednesday already???

Seriously, what's happening with my time? I feel like every time I blink, there it goes another day...lol

I think I need some serious time management classes!!!

My kids are napping less and less everyday. And that means less mommy-in-the computer time...

I put them in bed anyway, so at least they (and I) can rest a little in the afternoon. Yesterday they absolutely refused to sleep (or calm down for that matter), so I grabbed a book and sat in the chair in their bedroom in the hopes that seeing me quiet and relaxed would get them in the mood to do the same (Yeah, right!!!lol).

And right away I found out that my little acrobat has mastered the art of going back and forth from one crib to the other. He now doesn't need pillows nor stuffed animals... he puts his foot on the top of the bars (man, kids are flexible!!!!), pushes himself up and then is just a matter of putting the other foot down on the other bed. No falling, no flipping over, nothing... there he was safe and sound on the other side! lol

So far he has not attempted that towards the floor side... I guess he just wants to be with his sister! Cute, huh??? lol

Hello everyone!

How are ya'll doing? Rested, relaxed and ready to start september?

Not me!!! lol The weekend was so busy that it's only halfway monday and I'm beaten! Saturday we were out all day, doing some shopping, having brunch in town... Very nice but also very exhausting when you're watching and going after 2 1 year olds...lol And yesterday my SIL and BIL came to spend the day with us, we took the kids to play in the park across the street and they had a blast!

A NEW KIT, a FREEBIE... and a naughty little boy!

Better late than never, huh? lol

I've been trying to come and post this for a few days already, but life insisted on getting in the way! No, nothing serious, just day by day stuff. :) You know... The Exciting Adventures of a SAHM, trying (with absolutely no success) to keep the house cleaned up, to control the kids, bla bla bla... LOL

On thursday I put the kids in bed for their afternoon nap and half an hour later I pass in front of their room on the way to the kitchen and when I look inside what do I see? A little girl peacefully sleeping and a very much awake and playful little boy. Nothing wrong with this picture, right? Except the fact that the little boy was in the WRONG crib!!! I just couldn't believe my eyes! But there he was...

We have both cribs touching each other on the sides, but still... the bars are around their chest level! At that moment I was having a bunch of mixed feelings... I was scared thinking of all the accident possibilities now, but at the same time I wanted to start laughing because it was so darn cute seeing him in there, and of course, wondering how in the world did he manage that! Well... I got the answer to that a few minutes later. I put him back in his own bed and went out of the room and stayed watching him thru the crack of the door. He actually steps on the pillow and stuffed animals until he manages to put his belly on the fence, then it's just a matter throwing his head down and *FLIP* there he is!

I know it's dangerous, but I just couldn't help but think how clever that was!

Sooooo, I FINALLY have a new kit in the store! It's called No Piece of Cake. It's a 'Diet' kit... perfect for making pages of our before and afters, our goals and how we plan to get there, our healthier and lighter recipes... I tried to make the kit versatile, so it can also be used to scrap 'normal' pages...lol The possibilities are endless! ;)

YES! I finally updated my blog skin and template!!! YAY Me!!! I've been wanting to do so for a loooong time, but first I couldn't find a 'model; that was the way I wanted, so I had to learn how to 'transform' a regular blogger template into a 3 column one and then learn how to 'dress' it up! It was a bit of a struggle since I didn't have a clue whatsoever of what code was or how it worked! But with some help (thanks, Andrea and Bunny!!!) I finally managed! It's not exactly the way I wanted, but close enough for me to be proud of myself! lol

So... what do you guys think of the new look? CC's are always welcome!!! ;)

Ok, I'm off now... gonna go grab a cup of coffee and start my day! I just wanted to come here and post this before anything, otherwise I'd forget! lol

I really like the photo effect on this one, but the layout itself didn't turn out they way I wanted. But after being told by a few amazing scrappers that it was good, I decided to leave it as it is...

These were made with Kim's AWESOME new kit called Just Because.

Here's one I made for my little boy. I just love these photos of him wearing the Brazilian soccer team shirt!

Here's one with a vintage feel to it... I usually don't scrap with this style but I really like the way it turned out! I used a photo Menno took when we were chatting on msn... me in Brazil and him here.

I used Mum's High Tea by Kiki Halbert, and a template by Fei Stuff.

And here's another one of Lucas. I just love his smile on this one... and yes, I was tickling him! lol

I really like this kit, it's so cheerful and pretty! It's called Que Sera Sera by Polka Dot Plum.

For the lo I also used a template by Shazbutt's Digi-Scrapz.

How was the weekend?
Mine was very quiet and relaxed... so in other words: It was GREAT!!! lol

The fietscar (dunno the name in english, sorry! Maybe... bike car? lol) we ordered finally arrived! And we took it for a testdrive on saturday... Ooooh, it was so cool!

Shoot! I'm sooo late with this post...

Life just totally got in the way today!

And now it's late and I'm too tired to whine about it.... (I bet you're thinking: Phew, Lucky me!!! lol). But even though I'm so tired I'm almost sleeptyping I had to come here just to shout from the top of my lungs:

Woohooooooo! Isn't that GREAT NEWS??? Have you seen it already?

If you haven't, you should check it out, it's looking fantastic!

Bunny got the entire site revamped and did an awesome job at it! I swear...I think she's related to the Energizer Bunny. You guys have no idea of the effort, time and sweat has been put into getting the site back up asap.

Ok, I have more things I wanna tell you about but my brain isn't functioning anymore (I think part of it is already asleep lol).

So, I'll just skip to the good part and give you the freebie I prepared for today, ok? You don't mind that, right? LOL

I don't know if you guys already noticed but the forum and gallery at DSO are down, since yesterday. Bunny explained everything on the DSO Blog:

"We are experiancing some technical difficulties with our webhosts. They have been bought out by a new company, and the new companies changes are reaking havoc on our site. Please note I am working to resolve the problem as soon as I can. The gallery and forum will be closed until I can get the issue resolved."

And let me tell you... Don't be fooled by the lightness of the message.
Yesterday was CHAOS, Bunny was working like crazy trying to solve everything, dealing with a very UNSUPPORTIVE support service. Stress levels way up high!

So...please bare with us and be sure that EVERYTHING POSSIBLE is being done to get it all up and running again!

Is it Thursday already???

OMG... Time sure flies, doesn't it?

I have been having computer trouble all week and now I'm behind everything (again!!)... I wonder if I'll ever catch up???

And to make things better, I'm coming down with a nasty cold! My SIL came to spend the day with me and the kids yesterday and I spent all day sneezing and feeling like crap! I HATE sneezing!!! HATE IT! HATE IT!

Now, get this... Every time I sneezed the kids started laughing, thinking it was some sort of funny game! LOL Lucas even started to emulate me! After every sneeze he would throw his head foward and say 'ACHOOOO'... ROFL Sooooooooooo CUTE!

16 months old and already making fun of Mommy!!! HAHAHAHA

Ok...so now to business (lol)...

I know, I know...I've been a terrible blogger! Almost a month without showing my face around! It's just that I've been really busy with some stuff... Wanna know what? Huh? Huh?

In 18 days of existence the blog has had over 2000 visits... I'm in awe!

When Hubby put the counter for me he asked:

I started laughing and said:

Another Freebie

Helloooooo!

Oh, man... I'm soooo happy with this weather! Yesterday we took the kids to the park in front of the house. They had a BLAST!!! It was so great to see how they interect with the enviroment.

Samantha is already showing signs of being a total tomboy! She's such an explorer... wanted to touch everything and go everywhere! And quite independent too, just started walking but already refused holding hands! LOL
Lucas was also very cute but in the opposite way...he actually was trying to get up from the grass withoug touching it with his hands!!! He was also very interested in everything but was a bit more cautious than his little sister.

Today is bright and sunny as well, but since I'm alone I don't really dare to take them to the park by myself yet... With their tendency of going opposite directions I'd go crazy in 5 minutes! LOL

I have a gift for you today...well, actually, a friend of mine has the gift! She made 2 QP's using my mini kits. Look how cute they are:

I just can't believe the number of downloads the mini-kits had... I can't tell you how HAPPY I am by that! Thanks for all the nice coments...it was very very encouraging, not to mention Thrilling! You guys really MADE MY DAY!!!

It was pointed out to me that my previews kinda looked like QP's and that could 'mislead' some people... I totally agree!!! So to make up for my mistake, I've made some QP's for those who were expecting to get that instead of the kits... ;)

Spring has 'officially' arrived here!

The weather has been so lovely the past few days... On the weekend we even managed to go out without any jacket at all (YAY)! I'm thrilled to have warm sunny days again!

We had a great day on saturday... We went to town carrying the kids in the buggys instead of the heavy double stroller, Lucas and Samantha were really glad to be without the sleeping bags and winter jackets (can't blame them, can we?).

We bought their first real shoes (we avoided 'restraining' their feet till it was actually needed) and Samantha wasn't really thrilled about that! The girl hate socks, let alone shoes... She only calmed down when the lady at the store gave them a cookie. The result? The shoe left the store already dirt with chocolate!!! LOL

After town we went to the park across the street from home and played with them a little... Not sure who enjoyed the swings the most... the kids or the parents... haha

Sunday was nice and easy... Just the way it's supposed to be!!! ;)

Ok, so HERE's what I actually set out to tell you...

This weekend I started playing around with photoshop trying to find my way into the designing world... I'm still going around blindly, not really sure where to begin, how to do stuff, searching for tutorials and trying to keep all the copyright stuff in order in my head. But I did come up with something and I'd like to share the results with you.

I'd loooooooove if you could give some feedback (constructive criticism is always welcome) so I know if I'm on the right track or not.

Me a Blogger???

Well, well.... Me with a blog! Who would've thought???

I most certainly didn't!

I had diaries as I was growing up, but they were very private parts of me and no one was allowed near it. So the idea of having a blog was a bit 'weird' to me... But since I've moved to the Netherlands I've been toying with the idea of having some sort of page so I could share photos and facts of my daily life with my family and friends. That hasn't happened yet... I'm still sending everything via emails (seems even kinda old fashioned nowadays, huh? lol).

Now being a part of the Digiscrapping comunity I've come to find blogs a really fun way to keep in touch with old friends and making new ones. So here I am in this new 'venture'... Blogging!!!

So...I hope you bear with me and my overuse of exclamation points and ellipsis marks (had to chek in the dictionary what those were called in english... :P), my possible grammar/spelling mistakes (I try my best to avoid those, but english is not my mother language and they do happen, so please feel free to correct me anytime, ok?) and my sometimes neverending babbles.
